Meet Cheney Library’s New Director

Cheney Library is pleased to announce that Sara Yetto has accepted appointment to be our new Library Director.  Sara grew up in the Adirondacks where she developed her love for small rural libraries at a young age.  She attended Southern Vermont College where she graduated Valedictorian with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Psychology and a minor in Creative Writing. Sara is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree of Library and information Science from Valdosta State University’s online program.

Professionally, Sara has worked For Southern Vermont College Library as a Librarian, where she organized community outreach events, maintained the library’s main website and social media, and instructed students and faculty in performing advance database research. She also worked at the Pittstown Historical Society as a Record-Keeper and Transcriptionist, College Steps as a mentor, and for Southern Vermont College Communications Office as an Assistant.

Sara’s personal interests include reading, creative writing, and watching football with her family and friends.

Sara is excited to join Cheney Library’s team where she hopes to encourage library usability for our patrons, promote E-books, and maintain Cheney Library’s status as a “Place for the People.”
